How to combine the IF function in Excel 2003 HLOOKUP

How to combine the IF function in Excel 2003 HLOOKUP - If before I ever post about how to combine the functions if vlookup in excel, then in this post will be discussed on how to incorporate HLOOKUP IF function in Excel 2003. The combination of IF and HLOOKUP function can be used when working in a table based on two criteria reference. In this case the variable reference table will be arranged horizontally.

In this example will be created spreadsheets containing sales year, paper code, the type of paper and paper sales price. Type of paper and paper prices will refer to the data included in the reference table by using the IF function and HLOOKUP merger.

In order to more easily create a table like this:

Empty columns D and E because it will contain the formula.

Furthermore, in cell D4 enter the following formula:
= HLOOKUP (C4, $ G $ 3: $ K $ 6.2)
In cell E4 enter the following formula:
= IF (B4 = 2010, (HLOOKUP (C4, $ G $ 3: $ K $ 6,3,0)), (HLOOKUP (C4, $ G $ 3: $ K $ 6,4,0)))
The result looks like this:
